Weekend Getaway

Being a native Atlanta girl, one of my favorite weekend getaway destinations is Savannah, GA. Food, culture, and a historic feast for the eyes awaits in this quirky little coastal city. We stayed in a beautiful townhouse built in 1850 and had a lovely time, just us girls.

Mediterranean Chicken

Last night a made a tasty Mediterranean chicken dish that has very few ingredients and is quite easy to make.
All you need is the following:
Grilled Chicken Breasts
Olive Oil
Garlic
Black Olives
1 Can of Chopped Italian tomatoes
Herbs
Feta Cheese (optional)
I served it over quinoa, but pasta or salad is also an option

Step 1: Marinate the chicken breasts in olive oil and garlic for 2 hours.
Then grill completely in a hot skillet (about 7 minutes or until cooked through)

Step 2: Remove cooked chicken from the skillet and add in chopped tomatoes, chopped black olives, and Italian herbs (basil, oregano, and herbs du Provence)
Stew together for 8 minutes so that flavors can blend

Step 3: Add chicken breasts back to dish and reheat
Add feta cheese to the top here if desired

Spring Beauty Trends

As far as make up, I am typically a less is more type of gal. Hence my excitement that so many of my favorite designers championed the barely-there basic look for SS13.
On the left is Bottega Veneta and Valentino who both went for a youthful, soft glow focusing on highlighted eyes and supple, neutral lips- the perfect everyday look. While on the right, Dolce&Gabbana and Lanvin went for sexier shadows. DG sticking with their signature cateye and Lanvin going for the effortless smoky eye (a tough look to master on your own.)
Pale, natural lips are a consistent trend this season so keep that Burt's Bees handy...

Veggie Fix

Lately I have been absolutely obsessed with vegetables. Particularly Brussel Sprouts. I go through my phases of super clean eating, but I've discovered that when vegetables are seasoned to savory perfection, they are just as craveable as carbs...
These are super easy to make and absolutely delicioussss! It will remain an every-time-I-cook-brussel-sprouts-recipe for life.

First, cut brussel sprouts in half and add to large mixing bowl.

Drizzle them with olive oil (preferably lemon flavored) then add a good amount of sea salt, fresh pepper, and herbs du Provence (there they are again so just keep them around).

Bake at 325 for about 10-15 minutes or until slightly brown.

Mmmmm, flavorful perfection. Enjoy!

Flatt Magazine Issue Party

Last night my gorgeous friend Sophia and I went to the Flatt Magazine 4th Issue Party at The Box. We had such a fun, amazing, bittersweet evening as she is moving back to London next week. Boo. (She is a fantastic actress-- everyone check out her first project, Made in Chelsea, premiering April 1st on the Style Network!) Her blog as well: sohpiasassoon.com
Anyways- I discovered a new favorite book, Flatt (as if I needed more magazine obsessions). It focuses heavier on art and music than my traditional fashion books which is a welcome change these days. The party was hosted by photographer Mick Rock and the crowd was a combination of art people and fashion people-- an eclectic mix. Music was killer, thanks to DJ Cash and we met a lot of interesting people. Sophia is one of those girls that knows everyone who's anyone so there were a lot of introductions: "Hi, I'm Victoria. No, we are not sisters..." Only in the soul!

Gucci FW 2013

GUCCI FW 13

The Gucci Fall/Winter show happened today and I am in love with the contrasting textures. The python, mohair, lace, and silk made for a stunning, unpredictable collection. Plus, the continuous lace-up booties were fab! Sleek hair and dramatic make up was the icing on the cake.
